During Eid-ul-Fitr 2018, Pakistani movies saw a boost in sales and a positive feedback from the public. This time around again on Eid-ul-Azha the cinema is gearing for big budget movies. Not only these movies are big but the public is highly anticipating their release. The three big so far are Parwaaz hai Junoon, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 and Load Wedding. Whereas the first two movies are big, the third one seems to revolve around small stories in life and based on social issues.

Parwaaz Hai Junoon

The trailer of the movie shows the tried formula of patriotism and humanizing the characters by showing their love stories along the side. The star cast ensemble includes names of Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahad Raza Mir, Hania Amir, Kubra Khan, Shaz Khan and introducing comedian Syed Shafaat Ali. Another Pakistani film Sherdil about PAF is also making rounds.

Hamza and Hania play the lead pair. Ahad and Shaz have already shared a small screen in their drama Yakeen ka Safar. two songs Bulleya and Thaam Lo are becoming popular on social media. Produced under the banner of Momina & Duraid Films and being distributed by Hum Films.

The film has very Top Gun like vibes.

The movie pays a tribute to Air Force and is releasing bear 14th August, so you can expect a huge crowd queuing up for the movie. The movie promises a lot of action with beautiful cinematography.

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2

In 2015 JPNA 1 became a huge success. Though the story had nothing new to offer but the acting ensemble managed to make it a hit. Humayun Saeed, the lead actor, and producer of the movie is paired up against Kubra Khan this time. Kubra plays the role of an Indian girl who falls in love with Pakistani guy Humayun. The cross-border love story is another tried formula that usually works for the big screen. The primary shooting was done in Dubai, so we can expect a different aesthetic outlook as well.

Fahad Mustafa replaces Hamza Ali Abbasi as the new member of the group. And he is pairing with Mawra Hocane. The trailer introduces the rest of rowdy group Ahmed Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhary, Sarwat Gillani, and Uzma Khan reprising their roles along with famous Indian actor Kanwaljit Singh and Sara Loren’s performing in a sizzling club dance song. The trailer doesn’t offer anything new in terms of story, so the audience will have to wait and see if the movie lives up to its hype. The song Behka Re from movie is already becoming a favorite beat to groove with. Rumors suggest that Fawad Khan might just make a cameo in the film as well.

Load Wedding

Another Fahad Mustafa starter releasing this Eid is Load Wedding. This movie isn’t glamorous like other 2 but has big names like Mehwish Hayat as the leading lady and Samina Ahmed playing the role of Fahad’s mother.

The trailer of the movie shows a story focusing on the problems that come along with planning and arranging a wedding in our society. Fahad has a sister whom the family is eager to get married. And the brother is solely responsible for arranging the Jahez for her. The trailer also highlights the social norm that sisters should get married before the brother. In their previous film Actor in Law, Fahad and Mehwish highlighted the issues in our legal and justice system, let’s see if this movie can succeed in bringing its message across this time.

There is an Amir Liaqat lookalike as well. An ode to his glory days, perhaps?

Geo Films will distribute the film locally, and Zee Studios internationally. Nabeel Qureshi of Na Maloom Afrad is directing this one too.

All three movies have big cast members, with completely different genres. Kubra Khan is part of Parwaaz Hai Junoon and JPNA2. Whereas Fahad Mustafa will be appearing in Load Wedding and JPNA2. Mehwish Hayat and Hamza Ali Abbasi who both have been part of JPNA1. During Eid-ul-Fitr Pakistani censor board banned Bollywood movies, which helped the local movies’ business. Will censor board use the same rule this time to boost the industry? The release of all three movies will give tough competition to one another.
