Khaadi, the fast fashion retail store, is well known at home and abroad. The brand was established in 1998, and aimed to revive the ancient craft of the handloom. However, since its launch the brand has adapted itself to the evolving fashion industry of Pakistan, making sure it’s pieces are contemporary and suitable for the high street.
It’s recently launched line, MidSummer Vibes, is a perfect blend of modernism and ethnicity.
The line is not only extremely affordable (with a two-piece suit priced at PKR 1600 and a three-piece suit at PKR 2200 but it is also unique in terms of design and colour. While the prints remain traditional, the colours range from subtle violets to pops of yellow and tangerine. An added benefit for those of us who dread the 5 step process of getting clothes stitched (including buying buttons, appliquéing motifs and adding a varying number of tassels and laces) is that the MidSummer Vibes collection is hassle-free.
The collection is perfect for the working woman and those of us who have a simpler yet elegant taste in apparel. The colour palette of the line is also very refined; most of the clothes have a combination of three complementary tones.
While the summer lawn craze has driven most into an utter frenzy of overprinted and over-embellished clothes, Khaadi’s aesthetic offers a refreshing alternative. And that too at a very affordable price.
The MidSummer Vibes collection is available online and in shops.
