Dear Pakistani men, we understand that your typical (and fucked up) mentality revolves around you thinking how your wife or girlfriend decides your status in society and how her boisterous personality may taint your image, because obviously, she’s your ‘honor’, but you really need to start being progressive. I’m not saying all men think like this, but many do so. Who knows, maybe you’ve just grown up in a chauvinistic culture that systematically demeans women yet you’ve never thought twice about how a woman might infer them. Or maybe, females are just wayyyy too sensitive right? And they’re always ‘over reacting’? Either way, here are 9 phrases you really need to stop using while speaking to a woman:

1. ‘Yaar look at your moustache. Threading ya laser hee karwa lo”

Kyun bhai? Kyun karwayein? Go look at your hairy arms first and once they’re waxed, you can tell us to remove our body hair.

2. “Oh wait you smoke? But I’m sure you don’t inhale.”

Khuda nay sirf tujhay hee functioning lungs deeyay hain?

3. “Makeup nai lagaya wa naa issiliyay bimaar see lag rahi ho”

Can i just say that waking up early every single day, putting on makeup and looking pretty is not an easy task and definitely not our aim in life. We go to work to make something of ourselves, not to look pretty for men.

4. “I allow my wife to work.”

THE FACT THAT YOU’RE SAYING YOU “ALLOW” HER TO WORK JUST MAKES YOU WRONG FROM THE GET GO. SHE DOESN’T NEED YOUR PERMISSION TO FOLLOW HER DREAMS, EARN MONEY AND MAKE SOMETHING OF HER SELF.

5. “Why so moody? I’m sure you’re pmsing.”

Ummmm maybe I’m moody because I stayed up all night working? Or maybe because I had a bad day??? Asking a woman if she’s pms-ing after she disagrees with your opinion and is vocal about hers, is absolutely demeaning and inappropriate.

6. “Tum drive karo gi? Issay behtar hai mei paidal hee chala jaoun”

I would GLADLY drive alone without having you sit beside me and continuously mock my skills even if I’m driving perfectly fine. Oh and for the record, men cause a higher number of accidents than females. xxx

7. “Yaar tum kitna zyada peeti ho! Itni peenay waali larkiyaan ‘wife material’ nahi hoteen”

Aisay larkon kay liyay koi ‘wife material’ hona bhi nahi chahta because honestly, guys who use the phrase ‘wife material’ are DEFINITELY not ‘husband material’

8. “Tum nay tou university ki seat hee zaaya ki hai”

Haan sahi baat hai. Benazir nay Harvard say parh liya, Oxford say parh liya, Prime Minister bhi bann gayee likin kya faidah? Seat hee zaya kee na?

9. Agar aisay kapray pehno gee tou kon tumhari izzat karay ga?

Mei jo bhi kapray pehn loon, tera baap tou phir bhi taaray ga.

So please guys. If you respect women even a tad bit, you’ll avoid using these lines.
