Malala Yousafzai urges Imran Khan and Modi to ‘Shake Hands’
As tensions escalate between the two nuclear nations, Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai took to twitter to share a message of peace. Malala tweeted with the hashtag #SayNoToWar which has been trending on twitter for the past 36 hours.
Malala writes, “As a Nobel Laureate, UN Messenger of Peace, a citizen of Pakistan and a student, I am alarmed by the escalations of tension between India and Pakistan”
Malala wrote that she wished the leaders of both countries should sit down and solve this matter through dialogue
“I ask the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi to show true leadership in this difficult time: to sit down, shake hands and settle the long-standing issue of Kashmir through dialogue.”
Malala ended her message by stating that the real enemies are poverty, terrorism, illiteracy and health crises, not each other.
