Who is she?
She is Dr Fariha Bugti, one of Pakistan’s most distinguished officers in Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She is the Director of India Division in the Foreign Office where she is responsible for looking after and diplomatically handling complicated India Pakistan cases.
Where was she before?
She joined Foreign Office in 2005. She has also served as assistant director of the Foreign Office spokesperson in 2007. Ms Bugti is also one of the main Pak officials handling the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav.
Only Woman from Balochistan
Ms. Bugti is the only women officer working in the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan who belongs to Balochistan. According to sources She has always been lauded for her communication skills and strict professionalism and had a significant role to play in the handling of Kulbushan Jadhav and Abhinandan Vartman case.
Pakistani lady diplomat Dr Fareeha Bugti formally handed the captured pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Vartman over to the Indian authorities on 2nd March. The handing over took place at Wahga- Attari border.
