A young woman passed away after falling from the fourth floor of Bahria University in Islamabad, according to police and hospital staff.

23 year old Haleema Amin was an undergrad student in her second semester at Bahria University when she fell off the fourth floor of a new university block still under construction.
According to hospital staff, she was brought into the medical institute (PIMS) in the afternoon by the university staff along with a doctor; she had been conscious at the time but had suffered multiple fractures including her backbone.

She was kept under observation and provided treatment but died around 4:30 pm.

The Margalla police said they were informed of the incident when the woman was brought to the hospital, and were told that she fell while taking a selfie. They were denied access to the crime scene however. and were told that the university would establish what had happened.

Students of Bahria University have expressed their feelings regarding the incident online, and they seem to be displeased with the educational institution itself.

The students are currently engaging in a peaceful protest at the university.
