Former Prime Minister and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, along with daughter Maryam Nawaz, leave Lahore’s Services Hospital for Jati Umra
Although Nawaz Sharif was discharged from hospital yesterday, he refused to leave for Jati Umra in Raiwind as his daughter and PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz had not yet been released from Kot Lakhpat Jail following her bail approval and submission of surety bonds and passport.
A spokesperson for PML-N has announced that Nawaz will not be treated at the Sharif Medical Complex, but will instead be treated at his Raiwind residence following the establishment of an ICU unit there. This unit has been established under the supervision of the ex-PM’s personal physician, Dr Adnan Malik.
He was initially admitted into the government-run Services Hospital last month due to a critical decrease in platelet levels.
The Lahore High Court granted him bail on medical grounds in a NAB investigation relating to Chaudhry Sugar Mills. Moreover, the Islamabad High Court granted him an eight-week suspension of his seven year sentence appointed by accountability court judge Arshad Malik in the Al Azizia Hill Metal Establishment corruption reference.
