Instagram began testing the removal of likes from posts earlier this year and the test has now expanded globally.

The Facebook-owned photo and video sharing app announced last week that it would test the removal of likes this year in an attempt to ‘remove the pressure of how many likes a post will receive’.

The test was initially launched in the United States and the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, announced that the team was ‘excited by the early test results’.

On Thursday it was announced via Twitter that this test would extend globally. Although you will not be able to see likes on other peoples posts, you can still see how many people have liked your photo.
