Netherlands Queen Maxima is scheduled to arrive in Pakistan today to meet President Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Queen Maxima of the Netherlands is set to land in Pakistan today for a three day visit as the UN Secretary General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development. She has had this position since 2009.
For the duration of her visit, the Queen is set to meet with President Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and hold talks with various stakeholders from the public and private sectors.
Inclusive finance for development is one of the primary priorities of the government. Moreover, the Queen is scheduled to attend the launch of the Micro Payment Gateway, an initiative of the State Bank of Pakistan.
The Micro Payment Gateway is an initiative that aims to reduce the cost of small payments and boost digital transactions to benefit people and promote financial inclusion.
Queen Maxima has visited Pakistan in the past in February 2016.
