Doctors think that Haris Fatah may face a life long disability. His father came forward and explained how he might have to live with the disability for the rest of his life.
Haris Fatah Soomro was shot by Dua Mangi’s kidnappers before they abducted her. The incident took place in Karachi’s Bukhari commercial area after which Haris was badly wounded and taken to hospital. He has not yet gained consciousness.
Haris was shot in the spine during the attack. The doctors later recovered the bullet.
“His spine has been affected due to the bullet wound,” said his father, “Doctors have expressed the concern that Haris may be permanently disabled.”
His father explained nothing can be said for sure at the moment and the situation will be clearer once Haris regains conciousness.
Haris’s friend, Dua Mangi, who was the target of the attack has returned home safely on Friday. Her arrival was confirmed by her father Dr Nisar Ahmed Mangi via social media. While talking to the reporters, her mother said, “Our daughter has safely returned home. Thankful to the media and the civil society.”
