ISLAMABAD: The World Bank on Friday granted Pakistan a loan of $406.6 million. This loan will be used for the development of the Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC) Project, according to The News.

Minister for Economic Affairs, Hammad Azhar, looked after the signing ceremony of the KPEC at the division. This project will be 48 km long with a 4 lane carpeted road. It will be a high-speed access controlled motorway, from Peshawar to Torkham.

This project will play a huge role in the economic development of Pakistan. It will connect the places in its vicinity making them financially more stable. Kyber Pakhtunkhwa will get the much needed uplift as a province after this project.

Access will be made much more easier for not only the traders but also people living in the area. It is expected that tourism will get better in that area too.
