As reported by local media, Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) chief Manzoor Pashteen was arrested from Peshawar’s Shaheen Town during the early hours of Monday morning.

Quoting an official of Tahkal police station, the report said, “the PTM chief is being shifted to Dera Ismail Khan where an FIR has been registered against him.” Mohsin Dawar, senior PTM leader and MNA, also confirmed the development saying, “Last night Manzoor Pashteen was arrested in Tehkaal.”

Pakistan never learns from history

The arrest of a man who’s only crime is that he has defended the constitutional rights of the Pashtuns. When will the culture of silencing a reasoning voice in Pakistan die? Why hasn’t Pakistan learned from the mistakes made in the past?
