Three residential buildings in Karachi’s Golimar area collapsed on Thursday, killing 11 and wounding more than a dozen people, officials said.
MLO Abbasi Shaheed Hospital informed that bodies of seven women, three children and one man were brought after the incident. At least 18 people were wounded in the incident, said Police surgeon Dr Qarrar Abbasi.
What was the cause?
According Additional Director Sindh Building Control Authority Ashkar Daud, the building was made illegally and those officers who were involved in its approval have been suspended. Speaking to Geo News, he said that the building was constructed by merging 40 square yards’ plots. He said that a case will be registered against those involved, adding that the Sindh government has suspended 28 SBCA officers.
