Four persons each were killed when a roof collapsed in Swabi and a snow avalanche hit three vehicles in Abbottabad, administration officials and police said on Wednesday.

The first incident occurred in Mohallah Balarkhel area of Marghuz in Swabi tehsil on Tuesday night, which also caused injuries to three others. The house had been weakened by recent rain, but the family did not sense the danger to shift to a safe place, an official who visited the house, said. The deceased included three women and a minor girl. The doctors said free treatment was being provided to the injured on the directives of the district administration officials.

The snow slide incident

Meanwhile, the snow avalanche struck three vehicles near Kundla Mor on the Abbottabad-Muree Road late on Tuesday evening, killing four people, including a woman, on the spot, and injuring 21 others. According to police and Rescue 1122, two cars and a passenger van on way from Abbottabad to Muree came under the snowslide. As a result, two cars with tourists on board plunged into a ditch. Body of a woman was recovered on Tuesday night while three bodies were retrieved on Wednesday afternoon. The injured were shifted to Nathiagali, district headquarters hospital, Abbottabad, and Ayub Medcial Complex Hospital.
