Novel coronavirus has impacted 200 countries and territories, with the total confirmed cases hitting 857,487. While the pandemic is ravaging America, Spain, Italy and many others, there are a handful of countries that still haven’t reported any cases, but those stats are changing as well. The African country of Burundi was Covid-19 free until one day ago, since then, 2 cases have been reported.
Solomon Islands

The Solomon Islands has not reported any cases as of yet and the government’s proactive approach may help keep it that way.
- While there is no lockdown, a state of emergency has been imposed.
- Solomon Airlines has suspended all commercial flights to and from Australia, which has 4,860 confirmed cases.
- The Solomon Islands Government has extended a school closure notice, previously only for institutions in the capital Honiara and Guadalcanal, to the rest of the country.
- The National Referral Hospital in Honiara has implemented emergency measures including suspension of non-essential procedures and limits on visiting.
Malawi

There are no reported cases of Covid-19 in Malawi as yet, but there are concerns that cases may emerge once testing is carried out on a mass scale.
- The country’s president Peter Mutharika has declared coronavirus a national disaster as a measure to prevent cases of the virus in the country.
- The health ministry is checking temperatures of everyone coming through its land borders and airports.
- The country’s government has restricted public gatherings to less than 100 people. The national security has been ordered into action to enforce the restrictions.
Yemen

According to the Middle East Monitor, there are no confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the war torn country of Yemen.
- While the threat of an outbreak looms over Yemen, the United States has cut millions in aid
- Prisoners and detainees in Yemen are particularly vulnerable – and at high risk of death – if the novel coronavirus emerges in overcrowded prisons and other detention facilities, stated Group of Eminent International and Regional Experts on Yemen
- All fighting groups in Yemen have agreed to a nationwide ceasefire due to the coronavirus outbreak
Turkmenistan
Turkmenistan, the neighbour of Iran, has not reported any confirmed cases of Covid-19, but the country’s approach to keeping it that way is a bit unorthodox.
- The country’s dictator has banned the use of the word ‘Coronavirus’ along with the use of masks in public spaces.
- The country has also banned restaurants, gyms and sport events
