On March 19, 28 year old doctor Muhammad Masood was arrested in the United States by the FBI on terrorism charges.
The arrest took place when he was about to board a Southwest Airlines flight to Los Angeles, California. Masood was a former researcher at Mayo Clinic and holds a Pakistani passport.
He was charged for attempting to provide material support to the terrorist organisation ISIS. He was living in the U.S. for two years before he was arrested.
Who is BB?
The FBI was able to start investigations based on information indicating encrypted Social Media Platform (SMP) user ‘BB’ had pledged allegiance to the leader of ISIS. Authorities later found the BB and Masood were the same person. In his many communications, he revealed his plans to engineer suicide bombs and to go to Syria to fight on the frontlines.
