What happened:

On January 19, two days after the producer, Xulfi was accused of stealing Tu Jhoom’s melody from an upcoming singer from Umerkot, the producer came out with “clean” and presented relevant proof against the allegations. After fellow singers supported Xulfi, Meesha Shafi(@meesha.shafi) also came in the support and tweeted, “This is incorrect. Tu Jhoom was composed in demo form a month prior to the time the folk singer is claiming they shared a song that too unsolicited.”

PK. Mashable’s report quotes, “A video clip was shared which shows the conversation between Xulfi and Abdullah Siddiqi (Associate producer) discussing and sharing the melody for Tu Jhoom.” According to the video clip, the WhatsApp conversation between the Umerkot singer and Xulfi took place in June, whereas Xulfi and Siddiqi discussed Tu Jhoom in May 2021.

It is pertinent to mention that after Coke Studio season 14’s song Tu Jhoom was released, an upcoming singer from Umerkot, Tharparkar, alleged that Xulfi copied his melodies that she sent to the producer as a bid to get featured in Coke Studio season 14.
