What happened:

It has been two years since Covid-19 first came to the scene worldwide, and hundreds of studies have since come. However, a study by the Columbia University experts claimed that the family members of Covid-19 patients also have post-traumatic stress disorder. The survey by Columbian University quoted several families who have PTSD.

Details:

The family members who were not allowed to visit their Covid-19 patients were the ones who suffered most, as they were unable to send their last goodbyes; the findings of the study are based on 330 men and women, all of whom had loved ones admitted in the ICU. The researchers found out, “More than six in 10 displayed significant signs of PTSD, three to four months after their loved one’s initial hospital admission.”

On the other hand, half of them struggled with PTSD up to six months later, alongside anxiety and depression. At the same time, it was revealed that 15% to 30% of family members suffered anxiety and depression alongside PTSD.
