Laborers in Pakistan demand an increase in monthly wages and to protect their rights

What happened:

The provincial president of the Muttahida Labour Federation in Peshawar, Iqbal, claimed that the current surge in the prices has forced his union to demand an increase in wages and an increase in the living condition of the workers as he claimed, “the government had remained silent.” At the same time, Muhammad Iqbal, while laying out demands, stated that the federal and provincial governments would increase monthly wages and include Employees’ Old-Age Benefits as inflation continues to rise in Pakistan.

Subsequently, in honor of May Day, the Peshawar labor union staged a protest at the SHobra Chowk, and the labor union’s leader stated, “The workers had played a critical part in Pakistan’s progress, but each government had crushed them under one excuse or another.”
