Don’t forget about Jazlan Faisal; here’s the update on his murder case
On June 8, the family of 19-year-old Jazlan Faisal, who was murdered by four accused, including three brothers, over a minor issue in Bahria Town, Karachi, urged for the case to be investigated by a joint investigative team.
In an appeal to the home department, Jazlan’s grandfather, Sabir Ali Khan, demanded the formation of a JIT, claiming that the perpetrators of the horrible murder were “very influential both politically and financially,” which is obstructing the police investigation. According to the grandfather, the accused were well-known for ‘other crimes,’ and many FIRs were filed against them, but they got away with it somehow.
1 suspect still on the run:
One of the suspects, Ahsan Faiz, is “still on the run” and is being “protected by a political party leader,” according to his jailed brother Hasnain Faiz, who allegedly opened fired at Jazlan. According to Hasnain’s statement, the 9mm pistol belonged to their father and is yet to be recovered.
The city police chief has formed a board to “discuss the investigation,” assess the function of the investigating officer, and provide suggestions within seven days, according to a relevant portion of the police statute.
