What happened:

Another criminal revision motion was filed in the Sindh High Court against the May 23 ruling of an antiterrorism court via which it transferred the Nazim Jokhio murder case to a normal court for trial.

Details:

Advocate Mazhar Ali Junejo, a close friend of the victim and a prosecution witness in the murder case, contacted the SHC and claimed that Jokhio’s murder was a terrorism-related crime. He also questioned the investigating officer’s jurisdiction who removed the names of the two Pakistan Peoples Party legislators, Jam Karim and Jam Awais, from the list of suspects without any legal permission.

What you need to know:

The applicant said that in the final charge sheet filed before a magistrate, the IO had also named the two lawmakers as accused, but after reinvestigating the case, he did not charge sheet them since legal heirs entered into a compromise with the main accused which was yet to be declared valid by the court.
