112 Rawalpindi prisoners got bail on humanitarian grounds so they can celebrate Eid ul Azha with their families

What happened:

In advance of Eid ul Azha, the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench and all lower courts in the Rawalpindi region have granted bail to around 112 under-trial detainees on humanitarian grounds.

Details:

Several detainees awaiting trial filed applications over the weekend to be granted bail so they could spend Eid with their families and loved ones. Additionally, courts have ordered immediate release of bail-approved inmates who are incarcerated in the Rawalpindi district’s Adiala and other jails.

What’s next:

The district and sessions judge will visit Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail on the last working day before Eidul Azha, according to the sources, and would issue release orders for people accused of minor offences after granting them bail on personal surety.
