Let’s talk about Gen-Z smoking and pretending to look cool, but trust me, you are putting your life in danger. That is not cool! Teenagers these days usually think it’s cool to smoke or vape, probably because they watched the elder do so. In recent years, there has been an increase in vaping, particularly among cigarette smokers who want to transition away from smoking and are now caught up in vape culture. We see young kids & teenagers vaping and smoking cigarettes, and sometimes, at parties, there is more. But if we compare the two then which is lesser of two evils?
Vaping involves the insertion of an e-liquid, usually containing nicotine and several flavorings, into an electronic cigarette, powered by a rechargeable battery. The liquid then becomes a vapor that people breathe in, as they would smoke from a tobacco cigarette. The smoke coming out of your mouth is the point of showing that “Oh, look at me, I’m cool!” But some people do it as they’re addicted. Vapes give smokers the nicotine hit they need to help beat their cravings. Unlike cigarettes, vapes do not contain the same harmful combination of chemicals found in tobacco smoke.
Vaping or smoking has literally become a trend like when we go to a party, there is a question, “Oh you don’t smoke?” It is becoming more normal than it shouldn’t be. Moreover, like all new trends influencing public health, vaping has been the subject of intense international debate among researchers and health professionals. However, unlike the dangers of smoking cigarettes which have been well publicized for many years, the potential health risks of vaping are still not fully known.
Both smoking cigarettes and vaping have side effects and health risks, such as lung injuries and increased cancer risk. However, based on the available evidence, vaping appears to be less harmful than smoking cigarettes. According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, vaping may be less harmful than smoking cigarettes as a person who smokes inhales about 7,000 chemicals, whereas vaping seems to involve a lower number of chemicals.
Vaping has been enticing to young people because many teens believe vaping is less harmful than smoking. Second, lower vaping vs. smoking cigarettes cost. Finally, vape cartridges are often formulated with flavorings, such as apple pie and mango, appealing to younger users.
