Andrew Tate has been in the news since 2021, for his misogynistic remarks and strange comments. Recently, he was in the news for apparently converting to Islam, being arrested for human trafficking in Romania and most recently, voice-notes of him admitting to rape have been leaked to VICE NEWS.
Here’s what happened: In 2015, Tate was arrested over an allegation of assault in the UK when a woman went to the Police with messages from Tate, in which he wrote, “I love raping you.” In the same year, Tate had also been arrested over two more allegations of assault and abuse by 2 other women.
In 2019, CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) declined to pursue charges against Tate for these allegations as there was an “ounce of doubt” in the case.
Last month, Tate was arrested in Romania as part of a separate rape and human trafficking investigation.
What’s happening: Recently, VICE NEWS have revealed voice-notes sent to the third woman by Tate in which he appears to admit to raping her. He says, “ I loved how much you hated it” and “the more you didn’t like it, the more I enjoyed it”
Details: Of the three women, one says she was raped, and the other says she was strangled repeatedly by Tate. They both went public with their experiences last week. They revealed even though they both filed complaints in 2015, it took Hertfordshire Police four years to pass the case to prosecutors, who then declined to prosecute. The third woman who came out with these voice-notes says she does not know the identities of the other women.
The voice- note which we will not add based on its graphic language and tone details an alleged confession from Tate where he admits that he did have intercourse with the woman even after she clearly did not want to. He also says in his voice-note, “Am I bad person”
The CPS said it had nothing to add to its previous statement to VICE News regarding the investigation by Hertfordshire Police. That statement read that prosecutors had “carefully reviewed all the evidence provided by the police regarding each complainant and concluded it did not meet our legal test, and there was no realistic prospect of a conviction.”
As of now there is no formal statement from either side of the case. We hope justice prevails!
