What happened: On December 31, Pakistan’s Prime Minister launched the distribution of the Naya Pakistan National Sehat for the entire population of Punjab. In a ceremony held at the Governor House Punjab, Imran Khan said that not everyone can take such revolutionary decisions like health cards as the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf did. Details: At the launch ceremony, the premier said, “Today, every family in Punjab will get the health card facility. A welfare state is one where everyone has the opportunity for development and prosperity.” He also compared Pakistan with the State of Madinah and said, “For the first time in the State of Madina, the state took responsibility for the weaker segments of the society.” Also: The National Sehat Card will enable the families in Punjab to avail medical treatment up to one million rupees a year. At the same time, Imran Khan disclosed that thirty million families would benefit from the Sehat card and it would cost nearly 400 billion rupees for the government.
