The International Cat Federation bans Russian cats as country’s invasion of Ukraine continues

What happened: The International Cat Federation has banned Russian cats from participating in international competitions. Showing their concern about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Federation said,  “This is an unprecedented act of aggression.”  It is pertinent to mention that the ICF is also known as the  “United Nations of cat federations.”  Details:   In their statement on March 4, they said,  “We cannot just witness these atrocities and do nothing.”  However, the recent development means that no cat bred in Russia can be imported or registered at the pedigree book. No cat belonging to exhibitors living in Russia may be entered at any cat show. USA Today quotes the statement by the Cat Federation,  “Many innocent people died, many more are wounded and hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are forced to flee their homes to save their lives.”  More: At the same time, it is pertinent to mention that FIFA, UEFA, and the International Skating Union have also banned the Russian athletes and its teams from international events.
