‘Hero of Sialkot incident’ Malik Adnan receives Tamgha-i-Shujaat for risking his life to save Priyantha Kumara

What happened: Malik Adnan, the colleague of the Sri Lankan factory manager, Priyantha Kumara, was reported to have risked his life to save him but failed in front of the large violent mob. Malik Adnan, who was credited to be the hero and his video went viral on social media in December 2021, of him covering Priyantha Kumara’s body to save his life, but the large mob said to have overpowered him and dragged the Sri Lankan out on to the streets.  Details: At the same time, Imran Khan along with President Arif Alvi, praised the efforts made by Adnan, and for his bravery, PM Imran Khan announced Tamgha-i-Shujaat for him. As Imran Khan wrote,  “On behalf of the nation, I want to salute the moral courage and bravery of Malik Adnan who tried his utmost to shelter and save Priyantha from the vigilante mob in Sialkot.”  More:   Malik Adnan expressed his gratitude in a tweet and wrote,  “I am deeply grateful to the President of Pakistan, Mr. Arif Alvi, for awarding me the Medal of Courage. InshAllah, whenever the country and the nation need it, I will stand against falsehood by supporting the truth.”
