The Shaheed Allah Bux Soomro University of Art, Design, and Heritage in Jamshoro recently advertised that they are hiring a Vice-Chancellor for the university, but they specified only male applicants are eligible to apply. The ad was published in a Sindhi newspaper, Hyderabad’s Daily Kawish.

It is beyond condemnation @BBhuttoZardari @MuradAliShahPPP pic.twitter.com/G4Uprtwqgw— Dr.Arfana Mallah (@Arfana_Mallah) May 24, 2021
What Happened: Activist and Academic Dr. Arfana Mallah, a professor at the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, was the first person to identify the sexist ad and catapult it into the news by criticizing the ad via Twitter. The document was signed by Qazi Shahid Pervez, the secretary of the Sindh government’s University and Boards Department. The Response: People have vehemently condemned this decision of the university.
It's unconstitutional, against the gender equality, should be challenged. https://t.co/7kS5HA3QhP
