Amid political unrest, PCB seeks government guidelines as Windies series approaches

What happened:

As the PTI leads their Azaadi March in the capital, the Pakistan Cricket Board has called the government to lay out guidelines to decide the future of the West Indies series that is scheduled to start on June 8 in Rawalpindi. However, amid the unrest, Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to have the Pakistan cricket team camp at the venue from June 1, and the Windies are scheduled to reach Islamabad on June 5.

akistan vs West Indies series is part of the World Cup 2023 Qualifying round as the two teams will lock horns for the three-match ODI series. The News quoted a source close to the situation, “Since the federal government provides the entire security to cover all those associated with the series, including teams, officials, and other crew, we cannot move an inch without federal government’s guidelines.”
