Coke Studio’s latest song ‘Saiyaan’ was removed from all social media platforms right after it was released due to a copyright claim from EMI Pakistan The song is actually a cover, as the original was sung by Noor Jehan, and it seems to be that they did not have the license to produce a rendition of the ballad and post it as their own. After viewers complained about the song vanishing from the internet, Coke Studio went on Instagram Live to clarify the reason behind the removal and assured that the matter was being looked into by concerned parties.
The song is a Punjabi folklore love ballad by Shuja Haider and Rachel Viccaji, and the former addressed fans’ concern on his Facebook page.
The song can still be found on YouTube, however, by smaller channels looking to gain views by giving the public what they want.
