“Endless loadshedding” Shehbaz vows to end it from May 1

What happened: The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, on April 26, has directed the departments to end load shedding by May 1; the decision came at a time when the country had been facing electricity shortage for more than 10 hours. Shehbaz Sharif, while chairing a high-level meeting, said,  “The people can not be put into trouble due to load shedding in the summer season and directed the authorities to take immediate measures to address the issue.”  Details: Subsequently, the PM of Pakistan has ordered and sought a long-term plan to end the losses of loss-making power distribution companies. Shehbaz Sharif was given a brief on the generation of electricity and its transmission and consumption in the country. TheNews quoted the PM as,  “Out of 27 power plants that were shut down for over one year, 20 have been made functional.”  On the other hand, Shehbaz Sharif took notice of the diesel shortage and directed authorities to apprehend those who created artificial shortages.
