From radio to ARY News Waseem Badami’s media journey

Waseem Badami, born on February 7, 1985, in Karachi, is a renowned Pakistani television host and news anchor. He graduated with an MBA in Marketing from Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST). Badami began his media career by giving traffic updates on the radio while studying at SZABIST.


He later joined Business Plus as a researcher before getting selected by ARY News in 2006, where his career as a journalist and anchor took off.


In 2014, he left ARY News to join BOL Network as Executive Vice President and Senior Anchorperson but returned to ARY News in 2015. He is well-known for hosting the political talk show “11th Hour” and the popular Ramadan transmission “Shan-e-Ramazan” on ARY News. Additionally, he hosts “Har Lamha Purjosh,” a cricket-focused show during the Pakistan Super League.


Badami is famous for his signature “Masoomana Sawal” (innocent questions) which have become his hallmark. In 2017, he partnered with Hemani Herbals to launch “WB by Hemani,” a skincare and organic product brand. In 2022, he ventured into podcasting with his YouTube show “Podcast with Waseem Badami.”


Over the years, Badami has received several accolades, including the “Favorite Current Affairs Anchor – Male” award in 2016, the “Emerging Brand of the Year” award in 2018 for WB by Hemani, and the “Best Ramadan Transmission Host” at the 10th Pakistan Achievement Awards in 2019.
