Pakistan Moves to Tier 1 in Global Cybersecurity Index 2024

What Happened: Pakistan has advanced to Tier 1 in the Global Cybersecurity Index 2024, recognizing its significant improvements in cybersecurity.


What you need know: State Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, has celebrated Pakistan’s new ranking in Tier 1 of the International Telecommunication Union’s Global Cybersecurity Index 2024 report. This prestigious ranking includes 46 countries and acknowledges Pakistan’s significant progress in the areas of legal, technical, and organizational cybersecurity.


What more: Previously ranked 79th, Pakistan now joins the ranks of top nations such as the United States, Japan, and Australia. Khawaja commended the collective efforts of various organizations, including the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), for their crucial contributions to this achievement.
