Prime Minister Imran Khan summons meeting with National Security Committee on ‘threatening letter’￼
On March 31 (today), Prime Minister Imran Khan called a meeting with the National Security Committee in the afternoon at the Prime Minister’s House, according to Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry.
The conference was called in response to a purported threat letter from a foreign authority, which warned Pakistan of dire consequences if the no-confidence vote against Prime Minister Imran Khan failed. In light of the letter, the federal cabinet proposed convening an in-camera meeting of the National Security Committee.
On Macrh 30, PM Imran called an emergency cabinet meeting to discuss the subject of an international plot which aims to destabilise his government via a secret letter that he waved at a public rally in Islamabad on March 27. In separate meetings, the prime minister revealed the contents of the letter with his cabinet ministers and journalists. Following then, the document was sealed under the Official Secrecy Act.
