What happened: The Karachi police have manhandled and detained nearly 30 protestors for staging a protest outside the Sindh Assembly against the “illegal abductions of Baloch students.” It has been alleged that the two Baloch students were students at the University of Karachi and were “abducted by the law enforcement agencies.”

Details: The Baloch students were identified as Doda Baloch and Gamshad Baloch, who were taken away from their homes, “the whereabouts are unknown since June 7.” Later, the civil society and the relatives of the allegedly abducted Baloch students staged a sit-in outside the Sindh Assembly and demanded the release of the students.

More: At the same time, after detaining the protestors, Dawn quoted SSP South Asad Raza, “the police detained 19 men and nine women as they tried to enter the assembly building.” Videos online show the Karachi police dragging and hitting the protestors as they detained the allegedly violent protestors.
