Taliban leader issues directives refraining govt officials to marry more than once
The Afghan Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada has issued a directive that barred the interim government officials from marrying more than once. Tolo News has shared a decree from the Taliban-led Afghan government regarding the marriage.
Afghanistan’s Official news network Tolo News shared, “A new decree of the supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate Mawlawi Hibatullah Akhundzada instructed the members of the Islamic Emirate to avoid two, three or four marriages, which are not necessary and expensive.”
It is pertinent to mention that this is not the first time the Taliban leaders brought such directives. In January 2021, the Taliban had also refrained the Taliban supporters and commanders from marrying more than once as they claimed, “it invited criticism from our enemies.”
