Usman Khan from Peshawar becomes Charlie Chaplin to lighten up the pandemic gloom

Who is Usman Khan: Usman Khan, a 28 year old, used to be a toy vendor on the streets of Peshawar. Now he is the Charlie Chaplin cheering up Peshawaris. Usman comes from a struggling impoverished family and his role playing Chaplin helps him set aside his own troubles for a while too. Why he became Chaplin: Usman wanted to do something to help cheer up his streets during the pandemic. He felt like the pandemic had set a gloom on everyone and people were struggling to cope with it. While watching Chaplin’s videos he thought of dressing up as Chaplin for his people. Usman dresses up as Chaplin’s iconic role “The Tramp” with black eyeliner and mustache. His friends are often with him making videos of his antics. Usman’s popularity: His attempts to cheer up his fellow residents has gained him over 800,000 followers on TikTok.
