After the successful culmination of the Aurat March (Women’s March) which was held on International Women’s Day on Friday, veteran actress Simi Raheal expressed her disgust and shear annoyance over some women who according to her made her feel extremely ‘uneasy”
“This Women’s March has really upset me,”
Simi Raheal
While the march itself was successful, many Pakistani men were pretty vocal about their disapproval for the movement and more then a few women as it seems. The actress said that the movement due to some women had become detrimental rather then helpfull to the cause. She further accused the march of destroying the balance the women of Pakistan had created in the society. I believe feminism is redundant.
‘Be a woman who understands her strengths and powers. This to me is the same as India inciting jingoistic ideology and Pakistan talking about peace. Where are the evolved sane voices who want to be part of humanity?’

Talking further on the issue, Raheal said, “Why would we want to be men, when being a woman is so beautiful. Be a woman who understands her strengths and powers. This to me is the same as India inciting jingoistic ideology and Pakistan talking about peace. Where are the evolved sane voices who want to be part of humanity?”
Currently, the renowned actress is working on her drama serial which is directed by Rubina Ashraf. The story is about a young, educated girl’s journey who is kidnapped. It addresses deep-rooted social taboos and practices.
