McDonald’s reported a larger-than-expected sales decline as demand continues to weaken, despite promotions with value meals. Global sales at locations open over a year fell 1.5% from July to September—the biggest drop in four years and over twice what analysts predicted. This follows a 1% decline in the prior quarter, marking the first back-to-back sales drops since the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. While U.S. sales rose slightly, international markets, especially France and the UK, saw a 2.1% decrease. Net profits dropped 3% to $2.3 billion.
