Indonesia launches a free school meals program to support 82.9 million children


Indonesia has introduced a free school meals program to improve child nutrition, reduce stunting, and support education.

Starting nationwide next year, it aims to benefit 82.9 million children and young adults, as well as five million pregnant and breastfeeding women. With meals costing 15,000 rupiah each, the program has a 71 trillion rupiah budget for its initial phase.
