Cambridge’s Meeting with the Pakistan National Assembly Sub-Committeeon Education

Cambridge International Education (Cambridge) today
met with the Education Sub-Committee of the Pakistan National Assembly to provide additional
information on Cambridge’s investigation into parts of three exam papers that were shared from
two Cambridge International AS & A Level syllabuses in its June series. This statement
summarises that information.
Cambridge is the world’s largest international education provider for 3-19 year olds, working
with over 10,000 schools in more than 160 countries. In the June 2025 exam series alone, we
received 1.9 million exam entries worldwide. Of these, more than 1.3 million entries (69%) are
from schools worldwide working directly with Cambridge, whilst around 580,000 entries came
from schools that work through our partners, such as the British Council, and the Associate
School network.
Pakistan is a valued and long-standing partner within our global community. We have 800
Cambridge schools in Pakistan and received around 378,000 June entries. Of these, around
128,000 were for Cambridge International AS & A Level exams across 35 subjects from around
44,000 individual students.
Our experience working with thousands of schools across diverse education systems for over a
century gives us the expertise to manage the delivery of exams and to ensure fair and accurate
grading, even at large scale and even in the face of disruption.
Supporting growing global demand and accessibility in Pakistan
Across the world, the demand for international education is growing, and Cambridge continues
to see increased global demand for its curriculum, teacher development and qualifications –
our community includes hundreds of schools in each of China, India and the US. Cambridge
exam fees in Pakistan are our lowest fees globally and set to make Cambridge as accessible
as possible.
Uzma Yousuf, Country Director, Pakistan, said: “Our mission continues to be to help students
across Pakistan to be ready for the world. We were pleased to meet with the Sub-Committee
and provide more information in the interests of increased clarity around Cambridge
examinations processes in Pakistan. Together with all other international exam boards in
Pakistan, we also look forward to collaborating with the Inter-Board Coordination Commission
on the development of its Regulatory Framework Portal to support international education.”
