With inflation on the rise; Punjab govt announces to increase minimum wage to Rs25,000 

What happened:  The Punjab Government has now ordered to increase the workers’ minimum wage by 5000 rupees. At the same time, a notification in this regard has also been issued by the provincial government.  Details:  The notification has been quoted by ARY News as,  “The minimum wage has been raised by Rs5000 to Rs25,000, which will come into effect from July 1.”  It is pertinent to mention that previously the Punjab Government had announced an increase in the salaries of only government employees by 30%.  More:  ARY News has further developed,  “The government announced 15% disparity allowance along with 15% additional salary, which will be available to employees of certain government departments.”
