Taliban terms Human Rights Commission as ‘unnecessary’ before dissolving it 

What happened: The Taliban led Afghan government has now dissolved five major departments of the former US-backed government, including the Human Rights Commission, as they termed it to be  unnecessary,  while it is pertinent to mention that Afghanistan is facing an economic crisis. More importantly, the Taliban government is facing a budget deficit of 500 million dollars.  Details: The Taliban government’s deputy spokesman, Innamullah Samangani, is quoted by NBC News,  “Because these departments were not deemed necessary and were not included in the budget, they have been dissolved.”  Not just HRC but the Taliban government has also dissolved the High Council for National Reconciliation, which implemented the Afghan constitution. Whereas, the Taliban dissolving all these institutions comes at a time when they have also banned Afghan women from getting an education.
