What happened: Professor SR Khalid from Sri Vashney College was sent home for a month after the college administration found him offering namaz on the College’s lawn. An Indian publication reported, “A college professor in India was sent on a compulsory leave after a video of him offering namaz on the college premiss went viral and the Hindu right-winged demanded action against him.” Details: On the other hand, the college spokesperson is also quoted by the publication as, “The matter was reported to us by the youth leaders belonging to the Bhartiya Janata Yuwa Morcha and that the institute was investigating the matter.” However, the matter was taken to the police and a complaint was filed at the local police station of Kuwarsi.
