KMC announces first-ever zipline in Karachi

What happened: On February 2, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation announced to launch a zip line at Karachi’s Bagh Ibne Qasim in a bid to promote sports and recreational facilities to the general public. Barrister Murtaza Wahab, the city administrator, announced the new development and the DG Parks proposed the 3,000 feet long zipline.

Details:   ProPakistani quotes the development as,  “Junaid Ullah Khan the Director-General Parks stated that the proposed zip line would stretch from Kothari Parade to the Bagh Ibne Qasim boundary wall on Clifton Beach Road.”  Subsequently, the ARY News quoted the DG Parks,  “The parks and horticulture department has invited sealed bids from companies to operate and install a zip line for a 10-year period.” 

More: At the same time, Junaid Ullah stated the plan for the zipline would be completed by February 22 and the design for the zipline would also be completed by the said day. It is pertinent to mention that the zip line would be the third zip line installed in the country.
