This Pakistani entrepreneur’s crypto cafe ‘Chai Ada’ in London accepts payment in digital currencies only

What happened: A young Pakistani entrepreneur named Tayyab Shafiq in the United Kingdom has become the first to open a “Chai Ada” café that accepts different cryptocurrencies as payment. The 26 year-old’s coffee shop in Shepherds Bush, West London, sells a variety of Pakistani and Asian chai, parathas, biryani, and kebab rolls. Details: At Shafiq’s Chai Ada, customers can pay using digital currencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, XRP, Verge, Litecoin, and Horizen. The entrepreneur has created a software for this reason that is linked to his cafe and allows payments to be made from crypto wallet accounts to British pounds. Acknowledging the risks, Shafiq stated: “When I first started Chai Ada, I believed that Crypto, NFT, and the Metaverse are the way to the future, and I just want to encourage people to adopt cryptocurrencies.”  Chai Ada: From Ludo tables to cultural umbrellas, everything related to Pakistani truck art is showcased in the cafe while the tables and seats are imported from Lahore. Shafiq’s cafe also sells NFTs and stated that if people purchase it, they will receive 10% off their orders for the rest of their lives.
