SC bars Czech model from traveling abroad, acquitted in heroin smuggling case

What happened: The Supreme Court of Pakistan, on April 19, has stopped the Czech model Tereza Hluskova from traveling abroad as a drug smuggling case against her continues in court. Tereza Hluskova was sentenced to eight years and eight months in jail by session courts in 2019 for smuggling drugs to Abu Dhabi. Details: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued notice to the Czech model and adjourned the hearing till April 20. It is pertinent to mention that the Czech model had booked her flight for April 23, as a local court had allowed her to travel. The Customs counsel claimed that the higher court had sentenced her to eight years and eight months in prison, but she was later released by Lahore High Court.
