Background: A man was accused of mowing down five members of the same family with a black pickup truck in London, Ontario on Sunday. He ended up killing four and seriously injuring a 9-year-old boy. Motivated by religious hatred the devastating event has highlighted how desensitised Canadians are to the vulnerability of Muslims. What happened: As confirmed by CTV news pictures of Nathanial Veltman, charged with first-degree murder have been circulating all over social media. Following this release, there has been a rise in hate speech in the form of posts and videos celebrating the London terrorist attacker. The National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) has taken notice of such disturbing content. They are collaborating with the police to take the Islamophobic material down and apprehend the perpetrators.
