What happened : The Grammy-winning rapper, Cardi shared a ravishing image on Instagram dressed in a divine sculptural breastplate designed by a Pakistani artist Misha Japanwala. The sculpture was custom-made for the occasion.
Speaking directly to Cardi B, Japanwala wrote, “An amazing honour to mold you and create this piece to memorialize such an incredible moment for your family.”
Backstory: Japanwala is a sculpture artist and designer who earned herself a spot on Forbes’ 30 under 30 Asia list earlier this year. She has also been featured in Vogue and Gigi Hadid’s Gigi’s Journal Part II, a special issue of V Magazine. Yesterday, she put forth another one her achievements when she announced that she created a mould for rapper Cardi B, who is pregnant with her second child. Cardi B also posted the same image on her socials after she iconically announced her pregnancy earlier on Sunday. The musician had unveiled her baby bump at the 2021 BET Awards in Los Angeles. She made a surprise appearance with rap trio Migos, performing in a crystal-embellished Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit with a sheer panel to highlight her baby bump.
