the judicial system will NOT protect us. why does the victims trauma need to be trended before they even blink in that direction? enough. #ArrestUsmanMirza— (@thisissosadd) July 6, 2021
From top to bottom, our society is run by petty tyrants. Monsters like Usman Mirza are product of a culture in which they know they can commit horrific violence with impunity. Unfortunately, women face the brunt of our system's brutality.
Change must begin now. #ArrestUsmanMirza https://t.co/uEGTJB0RkA

Perpetrators Arrested: The prime suspect, Usman Mirza and three of his accomplices – Hafiz Ataur Rehman, Farhan Shaheen Awan and Madras Butt – have been taken into custody and charged with sexual assault, the officials reported. The incident has ignited widespread online outrage over the country’s longstanding problems with sexual violence, prompting a swift response from Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Qazi Jamilur Rehman who immediately directed SSP Operations Dr Syed Mustafa Tanveer to ensure the arrest of the suspects at the earliest. The case has been registered against the suspect under Section 354-A (assaulting and stripping a woman of her clothes), Section 506 (criminal intimidation), Section 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint) and Section 509 (sexual harassment) of the Pakistan Penal Code. However the question is what would’ve happened to Usman Mirza, had the video not gone viral? And how many Usman Mirza’s still loom freely because of our justice system?
Against my better judgement I saw parts of the Usman Mirza video.
What happened was bone chillingly awful, his utter glee in the sociopathy of treating those two like they were toys was so clear.
But I kept thinking this is not his first time, he looked practised in evil.

In addition, the investigation also discovered Mirza’s ‘guest house’ where sexual assault was routinely filmed and then used as a blackmailing tool against victims. The police said that it would probe into allegations about suspects blackmailing women with videos who used to stay at his guest house, adding that police was utilizing modern techniques to trace the suspects.
